Climate Asia is proud to support the Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) — an initiative by NEA, BCA, and EMA — that empowers construction firms in Singapore to adopt low-emission equipment through targeted financial support and structured carbon assessment.

Enabling a Low-Carbon Transition for Construction Equipment
The construction sector is energy-intensive, and reducing emissions from equipment is a critical step towards Singapore’s net zero ambition. The EEG provides grant funding for companies replacing existing construction equipment with more energy- and carbon-efficient alternatives. Climate Asia plays a key role in this ecosystem as an appointed consultant, helping firms quantify carbon savings and prepare the required technical submissions.
A Collaborative Process with Clear Outcomes
Each EEG-supported project involves close coordination among four main stakeholder groups:
Applicant (Construction Firm): Leads the application and provides data on current equipment and operations.
Equipment Supplier: Provides technical data for both existing and new machinery.
Consultant/Assessor: Conduct the carbon abatement assessment and prepares the final report.
BCA / NEA: Reviews all documentation, validates results, and confirms the grant amount.
Through this structured process, applicants can access tangible cost savings while making measurable progress in reducing their carbon footprint.
What We Deliver
Carbon Abatement Analysis:
Comprehensive lifecycle emissions comparison between existing and new equipment, aligned with Advanced Tier standards.
Reduce Capital Costs, Make Informed Choices:
Supports informed procurement by offsetting capital expenditures through grant funding.
Strategic Guidance:
From data collection to submission, We work closely with Construction firms to ensure eligibility, robustness of analysis, and alignment with grant requirements.
Our Approach
We follow a rigorous methodology throughout the grant support journey:
1. Data Collection: We gather operational data for existing equipment and proposed replacements, ensuring completeness and technical accuracy.
2. Scenario Development: We establish a realistic Business-As-Usual (BAU) scenario based on equipment lifecycle and site usage conditions.
3. Emissions Computation: We calculate the carbon abatement by comparing lifecycle emissions and apply uncertainty factors where needed.
4. Report Submission: We prepare a structured assessment report to support BCA/NEA verification and grant determination.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for EEG, applicants must:
Be registered and operating in Singapore under SSIC codes 41–43.
Have at least 30% local shareholding and one local employee.
Have a group annual sales turnover of no more than S$500 million.
Ensure that the equipment has not been purchased before the EEG application.
